Following a successful appearance of the CanAm Spyder at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, Hulme Supercars have now revealed the 'Hulme F1' concept as its production successor.
To be built to European Small Series certification, the Hulme F1 complies with various international vehicle lighting standards, while improvements to the aerodynamics and airflow of the car have revealed re-designed front and rear wings.
Using the latest in F1 testing and design modelling, the Hulme F1 will be powered by a hand built, supercharged, 700 HP engine. Developed with the help of famous engine builders 'Nicholson McLaren', torque and tractability are two key strengths the car will be taking from the CanAm's success.
Driven at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by former two-time World Touring Car Cup champion Paul Radisich, it was Sir Stirling Moss's own test driver Andy Prill that set tongues wagging with his appraisal of the supercar's ability.
It's that reputation the Hulme Supercars team are running with ahead of the car's production.
"After the success of driving the Hulme CanAm Spyder at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK and detailed discussions with a number of potential customers and experts in the Supercar industry, we have continued to develop the car which will be built to the same quality level as the fabulous Pagani, and comply with "Group LVV EU certification," says Jock Freemantle of Hulme Supercars.
"This will enable our cars to be sold and resold in all countries that accept this certification.
"Significant design refinements have been incorporated...to ensure it will be a true driver's car."
Designed by New Zealander's, it draws on knowledge and experience of international motor racing and high tech composite Americas Cup racing yachts. Complete with the latest crash absorption systems and a fully developed ABS electronic driver aid system, it will provide the ultimate safe driving experience. Achieving the 1080kg vehicle weight comes through using state of the art carbon/titanium/kevlar composite chassis and composite body panels. The 'Hulme F1' features a F1 style high down force generating aero package with push-rod suspension to provide superior road holding, handling and ride comfort.
Hulme Supercars are accepting 'Options to Purchase' agreements for the very limited, first year's production, with delivery starting in late 2012.
